Venture Fifth Wheelers are Australian designed 5th wheelers - suitable for towing by unmodified Australian utes such as the Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux, Mazda BT-50, Ford Ranger and more.
We offer two models of 5th wheelers - a 21' model and a 22' 7" model, both with luxuriously appointed interiors, and a variety of options that allow you to customise your 5th wheeler. Venture fifth wheelers are equally at home in a beach-side caravan park, or free-camping through the wonderful Australian outback.
So What is a 5th Wheeler?
A "5th Wheeler" is a type of towed caravan, but instead of attaching to the towing vehicle on the normal tow ball, the coupling is located above the rear axle of the tow vehicle (which is normally a ute).
The fifth wheeler concept originated in North America where huge "pickup trucks" are very common. These large vehicles developed a market for very large 5th wheeler caravans (30' and over), and the term "5th wheeler" came to be associated with extremely big rigs. Venture adapted this concept (way back in 1999) by creating a smaller fifth wheeler suitable for towing by an ordinary Aussie ute.
The Main Advantage is SAFETY!
The main advantage of a fifth wheeler over a caravan is the inherent towing stability. The usual swaying of a conventional caravan is eliminated, resulting in a very safe, comfortable touring experience. In fact, they are a dream to tow.
